In her new project, Dinara Nurimova reveals the theme of the dialogue of cultures.
This topic is close and familiar to her since childhood: Dinara was born in an intercultural family and at an early age saw how different traditions intertwine and interact with each other. Perhaps it is for this reason that she gets special pleasure from communicating with people from different parts of the world and participating in international projects. Some of the most memorable events in her life were participation in exhibitions in London, Rome, Kotka, Beijing, as well as visits to art residences in Belgium, Spain and China, where she worked with her colleagues. For the second year, Dinara has been living in two cities: St. Petersburg and Vienna. The constant movement between cities forced the artist to take a fresh look at the topic of multiculturalism, which has become especially relevant in recent years. And it was she who became the leitmotif of her first solo exhibition in Vienna.
Dinara presents her vision of this topic through the stylistics of the city landscape. For the first time she became interested in this genre while studying at the Academy of Arts, attending plein airs every summer in different cities of Russia and the CIS countries. After graduating from the Academy, urban studies became a field for the artist to experiment and research. She plays with form and space, studying material and creating three-dimensional installations from her paintings. Through the cityscape, Dinara reveals her views on complex social processes. Cities invariably bear the imprint of the people living in them and, like people, they engage in dialogue. The images of Vienna and St. Petersburg are somewhere similar to each other, sometimes they contrast, creating compositions that echo, contradict and flow into each other. Dinara's paintings clearly demonstrate that unity is in diversity. People differ from each other, while many of our thoughts and aspirations cross the boundaries of culture and are understandable to the majority. Interaction and communication is a way to understand each other and take a step forward in your development. This is the message that the artist makes with her exhibition and hopes that it will resonate with her visitors.
